يُعد قص الرياح (Wind Shear) من أخطر الظواهر الجوية في عالم الطيران. يُعرّف بأنه تغيّر مفاجئ وعنيف في سرعة الرياح أو اتجاهها خلال مسافة قصيرة جداً.
يتم كتابتها في نهاية التقرير باستخدام كود WS.
مثال: HECA 120900Z ... WS RWY 05L (يعني قص رياح على مدرج 05 الأيسر).
في حال وجود تحذير WS، يتدرب الطيارون للقيام بمناورة "الذهاب حول المطار" (Go-Around) وعدم المخاطرة بالهبوط.
