Create Professional Official NOTAM

Using the NOTAM Builder to ensure proper formatting (ICAO Standard) and calculate Zulu times.

Guide to Creating a NOTAM in AeroOps

This section allows you to draft NOTAM messages that comply with international ICAO standards without having to memorize complex codes.

How to Use the Smart Builder:

1. Fill in the Basic Data

  • Location: Enter the 4-letter airport code.
  • Serial: Enter the serial number (e.g., A0123/26).
  • NOTAM Type: Choose between (NEW, REPLACE, CANCEL).

2. Select Subject and Condition (Q-Code)

Instead of typing codes manually, select the subject (e.g., Runway) and then select the condition (e.g., Closed). The system will automatically generate the appropriate Q-Code (like MR).

3. Schedule Time (Zulu Time)

Times must be entered in UTC/Zulu format. You can click the "SET NOW ZULU" button and the system will automatically insert the current time, making calculation easier for you.

4. Build Item E (Item E Builder)

This is the most important part, where you can select:

  • Reasons: (Maintenance, Technical failure, Training, etc.).
  • Instructions: (Please review ATIS, Follow tower instructions).
  • Warnings: (Workers present, Equipment present). The system will gather these selections and draft them into an official, professional English paragraph.

Export and Share:

Once you click on "Generate Official NOTAM", the final message will appear in the black box. You can then:

  • Download PDF: To get a ready-to-print official document.
  • Download Word: If you want to make additional manual modifications.
  • Quick Copy: To send the message via other communication systems.

Technical Tip:

The system retains the last 5 NOTAMs you generated in the "History Log" at the bottom of the page for quick reference.
